Finally got my first jig done without a single tear-out after 3 tries in my own garage
I was at a buddy's shop in Nashville last weekend and he showed me how he does his miter sled stops with a little ca glue and accelerator trick, and now I can actually do repeat cuts on crown molding without measuring every single piece, anyone else pick up a weird tip from a friend that made a huge difference?

My buddy Mike showed me the same ca glue trick about six months ago on a jig for a shelf pin drilling template. I used to think superglue was just for fixing broken stuff or stupid mistakes, but he put a tiny drop on the fence and hit it with accelerator and it held tight through 50 holes without slipping a bit. Changed my whole mindset on using it for jigs, honestly. Now I keep a bottle right next to my clamps on the bench.

Saw a buddy of mine at a local woodworking meetup last month and he showed me this trick with a sharpened cabinet scraper for flush trimming dovetails. I had been fighting with sandpaper forever and that one little tip cut my finishing time in half. His shop floor was a mess but his joinery was spotless, go figure.

Laughing at the mess part because my shop looks like a tornado hit it half the time but somehow my joints come out decent. Tried that scraper trick once and ended up taking a chunk out of my thumb instead of the dovetail. Guess that's what I get for thinking I could skip the practice step on a brand new tool.
