I swore by my old method for fitting inset doors until a job in Tacoma last month.

A single cherry door with tricky grain movement took me nearly 8 hours to get right, when I normally budget two. Has anyone else run into a wood that just refused to cooperate?

Tricky grain movement? Try working with reclaimed barn oak.

My grandfather's old barn wood split right down the middle last winter.

That reclaimed oak is actually pretty tame compared to some fresh-cut cherry.
