Just finished my 500th cabinet door and realized I've been doing the hinge mortises wrong for years.

Man, I feel that. I was putting the hinge leaf in the mortise backwards for a solid year, so every door sat proud. Had to redo a whole kitchen's worth. A simple jig with a stop block for my router finally fixed it for me. Saved so much time and headache.

Actually, I've found the old way more forgiving for wood movement.

Wait, is it really that big of a deal? People have been hanging doors forever without a fancy jig.
