The $140 Blum hinge drill bit that paid for itself in one job

Back in March I finally bought the proper 35mm hinge boring bit for my drill press after years of using a cheap paddle bit and chiseling out the edges. It cost me $140 at the local supplier in Columbus, and the first kitchen job with 40 cabinets went so smooth I finished a day early. That one bit turned what used to be my most dreaded step into the easiest part of the build. Anyone else had a single tool that just clicked and made you wonder why you waited so long?

Read somewhere that most hinge screws strip out because the pilot hole depth is off, not because the bit is bad. That $140 bit probably gives you the exact depth every time without thinking about it, which is worth more than the price tag honestly. My buddy had a similar story with a Festool domino cutter, said it paid for itself on the first set of dining chairs he made. Tools that remove the guesswork are the ones you never regret.
