DAE have a staple gun fire into a freshly painted ceiling 10 minutes before the homeowner walkthrough?
So last Thursday I was finishing a 3 room coax and Cat6 rough-in in a flip house over in Garland, and the whole job had been smooth until the very end. I'm up on the ladder stapling the last run along the ceiling joists, and the homeowner is literally standing in the doorway with her realtor doing the final walkthrough. My old Arrow staple gun jams, so I do the dumb thing every one of us has done, I bang it against my palm to free it up, and it fires a staple straight up into the fresh Sherwin Williams ceiling paint. Little half moon dent plus a staple tail sticking out, right above where her sofa is going. I tried to play it cool and pick it out with my lineman pliers but the paint flaked off in a circle about the size of a quarter. Her realtor just stared at me and said 'well that's a punch list item.' I ended up driving to the paint store on my own dime for a sample can to touch it up, which cost me $24 and my whole afternoon. Anybody got a trick for hiding a staple hole in fresh paint without the touch up drying a shade off? Mine always looks like a weird shiny spot under the can lights.
