Finally got through a full attic run in under an hour

Had a job in a 1920s house in Tacoma yesterday with the worst crawl space I've seen. The homeowner needed a line from the basement to the second floor office, and the only path was through a tight, insulated attic. I used my Klein fish tape and a new fiberglass push rod I got last week, and it went straight through on the first try. Has anyone else found a tool that really speeds up those tough old-house runs?

Ugh, those old attics are the worst. Sounds like you earned that win.

My buddy swears by his Milwaukee inspection camera now. He was in a similar spot last month, a cramped 1940s attic full of blown-in insulation. He said he spent 20 minutes just trying to find the right hole to drop his line, but the little camera on a bendy cord let him see the path and guide the fish tape right through. Said it cut his time in half on that job.

@owens.blair those flexible glow rods are good, but I mostly just use them to embarrass myself by dropping them into insulation and having them glow at me like a disappointed light saber. Wren's buddy with the camera sounds smarter than me. I usually end up crawling around for 40 minutes praying I don't step through a ceiling. Maybe I should invest in one before my next attic adventure turns into a living room cameo.

Heard about those flexible glow rods being a game changer for tight spots, are they worth the hype?
