I finally learned why that old timers trick with coax actually matters
Last week in Dayton I was wrestling with a signal drop on a three year old run and remembered a guy back in 2019 who swore by using compression connectors instead of crimp ones. Spent 20 minutes re-terminating both ends with compression fittings and the signal came right back to where it should be. Has anyone else had a simple swap like that save a whole job?

Did you try checking the connectors first or just swap everything?

Eva always asks the right questions. I learned this the hard way after swapping out a whole power supply only to find a loose connector was the actual problem. Checking the simple stuff first saves so much time and money.

Eva's dead right, checking the simple stuff first is almost always the answer. I had a similar dumb fix where I spent two hours chasing a weird noise and it turned out to be a single loose screw on a junction box.
