Just realized the trick a retiree in Tulsa showed me for fishing drop ceiling tiles saved my whole afternoon
He handed me a bent coat hanger and a scrap of Romex and said the tile pops out clean every time, which it did on all 9 runs at the clinic job. Now I keep one in the van, anyone else got a homemade tool that beats the real thing?

Careful with Romex, the outer jacket hides the ground wire and that can scar the tile.
