My backup toner trick saved a 3 hour redo in Durham
So I was doing a full home rewire in an old build last Tuesday and my main toner just died halfway through tracing the attic runs. I grabbed a spare 9 volt battery and a cheap speaker wire from my truck, hooked it up to the coax ends, and used the static noise to find the right lines. It worked way better than I thought, got the whole job done before dark. Anyone else ever rig up a quick fix when a tool fails mid job?
