Serious question, overheard a guy at the supply house say he never grounds the tap at the pole
He claimed it saves 15 minutes on a standard install, but that just sounds like a major code violation waiting to happen. Anyone ever push back on a shortcut like that?

Saw a post about that causing stray voltage issues.

Did you see that post too, emma_baker61? My first thought was that I'd probably be the one to accidentally cause a stray voltage problem.

Have you noticed how many pro trades are getting infected with this "faster is better" mindset lately? I heard a plumber bragging about never using pressure gauges on boiler installs because he can "feel" when it's right. That's the same dangerous shortcut thinking. It's like watching someone skip reading the manual on a new car because they've driven before. The problem is, these shortcuts work fine 99 times out of 100, but that one time they don't, someone gets hurt or a house burns down. I see it everywhere now, from electricians to mechanics to roofers. We're racing through jobs to save a few minutes and forgetting that our work has to last for decades, not just until Friday.
