Went back to an old customer's house I first wired in 2009

Ngl I was driving through my old route and stopped at a house I remembered doing the whole cable run for back in 2009. The guy still had the same TV stand but now there's like 4 streaming boxes and a gaming console hooked up. What got me was how clean my original work looked compared to the tangled mess of HDMI cords he added himself. Back then we just ran a single coax line and maybe a phone jack. Now you need a whole ethernet backbone just to keep up. Has anyone else gone back to old jobs and seen how much the setup changed over like a decade or more?

Saw a post about a 2005 build where they upgraded the panel three times since my original work.

Man, tell me about it! I went back to a house I wired in 2008 for basic cable and phone lines and the guy now has a whole server rack in his basement. It's crazy how much stuff they cram in now compared to back then. I mean, who even thought we'd need dedicated network drops in every room for smart TVs and security cameras? My original cable runs were still solid but he redid all his own low voltage stuff and it looked like a spider web made of spaghetti.

@wade_kelly77 man, I've been there too. What worked for me was just focusing on keeping the main cable runs clean and labeled so even when they add junk later, the core is still serviceable.
