Almost lost a customer's Nikon last month to a $4 screwdriver tip I grabbed at Harbor Freight
The tip snapped off inside a JIS screw on a D750 and I spent 40 minutes fishing it out with tweezers under a magnifier before I got lucky. Anyone else had a cheap bit shear off and what brand are you actually trusting for these?
A buddy of mine did the same thing with a no name bit on his D800 and the tip snapped off clean in the screw head. He ended up drilling the screw out, which meant ordering a new body plate from Nikon, so that five dollar bit cost him way more in the end. Wiha and Vessel JIS bits are what he keeps on the bench now, and he has not had a single one twist or break since.
