Hand polishing vs. the rotary tool, my back thanks me now

Honestly, for years I did all my lens element polishing by hand with a cloth and compound. Took me 20 minutes per scratch and my fingers would cramp up by the third job. Last month I finally caved and got a small Foredom rotary tool with a felt pad. Ngl, it cut that time down to 5 minutes and the finish is way more even. I still hand polish the really delicate stuff, but for standard front element haze, I'm never going back. Has anyone else made the switch and found a good technique for keeping the pad clean between passes?
