Heard a client call their old camera 'just a box of memories' while I was fixing the light seals.
It made me remember that even a simple CLA on a basic point-and-shoot can save someone's vacation photos from 2003, which is a pretty good reason to keep at it.

Isn't it wild how much meaning gets packed into those old plastic bodies? That line about a box of memories hits hard. It's easy to forget we're not just fixing light leaks, we're basically time traveling for people. Makes the tedious work totally worth it.

Remember that article about the guy who fixed a broken VHS camcorder? The tape inside was the family's only video of their dad who passed away. All that work to clean heads and fix a worn belt just to hear his laugh again. That's the real job, past the cracked plastic and dried grease. You're handing someone a piece of their life back that they thought was gone.
