Hitting 500 shutters replaced... do you count your repairs or let it go?
I just hit 500 shutter replacements on old SLRs and it got me thinking - is tracking numbers like that useful for improving your skills or does it turn the trade into a boring numbers game? I never thought I'd care, but seeing that milestone actually felt pretty good... anyone else counting their repairs up?

Ha, @jessica921 you hit on something real with the "coffee stains and scribbles" bit. My logbook looks like a crime scene with all the grease and random notes, half of them illegible even to me. I tried keeping a clean spreadsheet once but gave up after three entries. 500 shutters is a crazy number, but honestly I probably did way more than that if you count the ones I fixed twice because I messed up the first time.

Gosh, 500 shutters is no joke. I'd probably lose count after like 20 and just start guessing - my repair log is a mess of coffee stains and scribbles anyway. It's cool to see that number though, even if mine would just be a lie.
