Just realized why my old teacher's repair notes were so good

Talked to a retired shop guy in Phoenix last week who used to fix medium format stuff. He said he never wrote down what he did, only what he missed and how he caught it. That flipped my whole note setup, now I keep a section for dumb mistakes. Anyone else keep a failure log like that?

Thirty years on the road and I kept a log of every repair, but never the misses... this guy's got a point, that's where the real learning hides.
