The repair guy at the flea market in Tucson showed me a Yashica with a bent lens mount, and it hit me how few of us are left | Camera Repairers - Vivisector
That line about "how few of us are left" is what gets me. A buddy of mine drove out to a shop two hours away last spring because it was the only place that would even look at his old Minolta, and the guy ended up passing away a few months later. Now my friend has no clue where to take it and he's just letting it sit in a closet. Shops like that close and nobody takes over, that's the thing. Feels like we're losing the people faster than we're losing the cameras.
