Hit 47 campsites in 12 months and my tent finally gave up
I counted every single site I stayed at last year and my old Coleman finally ripped a seam after night 47, which is way more than I expected from a $60 tent, so anyone else track their gear's lifespan like that?

Yeah @simon_carr, 47 nights from a Coleman is solid but you gotta be realistic - that's still a budget tent designed for occasional weekend trips, not full time use. You said "a couple trips" but 47 nights is way more than two or three weekends, so your gear might not last that long if you push it that hard. I've seen people get 30-40 nights from those cheap domes before the poles snap or the floor leaks. If you're doing maybe 10-15 nights a year they'll hold up fine, but don't expect every $60 tent to hit that mark.

Makes you wonder though @simon_carr if 47 nights is the exception not the rule for those tents.

Used to think budget gear died after a couple trips honestly, but 47 nights from a Coleman is pretty impressive. That changes my mind about how long cheap tents can hold up if you treat them decently. Might have to give my own gear a second chance before upgrading next time.
