I used to pack a separate bag just for cooking gear, but after a rainy weekend in the Adirondacks, I switched to a single, waterproof duffel for everything.

The change happened two years ago when my old stuff sack leaked and my matches got soaked, forcing me to ask a neighboring camper for a light, which made me realize how much simpler and safer it is to have one reliable container... what's your go-to method for keeping your kitchen kit dry?

My old coffee can trick works, just put a lid on it.

Yeah, that "one reliable container" idea is key... my buddy learned the hard way when his fancy coffee press filled with rainwater overnight. He just drinks instant now.

Ugh, that's so true about overcomplicating things. I see it everywhere now, people buying fancy gear when the simple old stuff works better. Your buddy's story is the perfect example.
