Man, that's rough. My buddy's cheap stove sputtered out while he was boiling water for ramen up in Big Bear. Had to use his car's cigarette lighter and a travel kettle. Took forever, and the ramen was a sad, lukewarm mess.

My cousin tried that car lighter trick in Yosemite last winter. The fuse blew after ten minutes and he was stuck with cold soup. Honestly, a cheap butane stove from the gas station is still better than that. You just can't get a real boil from a 12-volt outlet, it's a total last resort.

Victors cousin is braver than me, I wouldve given up after the fuse popped. Did he try swapping in a heavier gauge fuse or was it just a total loss? Always wondered if those lighter port adapters are even rated for consistent draw or if they are all garbage.

Yeah, my camping trip was ruined by a similar sad ramen tragedy.
