My brother in law swears by his $400 sleeping bag, I use a $60 one from a garage sale in Bend
So my brother in law and I went camping near Bend, Oregon a couple weeks back and he pulls out this fancy sleeping bag that cost him around $400. I'm using a $60 one I grabbed at a garage sale and honestly I slept fine both nights. But he keeps saying you get what you pay for and that cheap bags quit on you at altitude or in real cold. Now I'm wondering if I've just been lucky with mild weather or if he's been sold a bill of goods. Anyone else gone cheap on a bag for years and had it hold up?

A $60 bag from a garage sale in Bend works fine for car camping at 40 degrees.
