Setting up my new tent in the rain took forever

Got a new 4 person tent for a trip to Lake Tahoe. First time setting it up was in a downpour last weekend. The rain fly clips kept getting stuck. Took me 45 minutes just to get the poles through the sleeves with wet hands. My old tent took 10 minutes tops. Anyone have a good rainproof tent they can set up fast?

Oh man, I feel that... setting up in the rain is the worst. Those little plastic clips just turn into slippery little devils when they're wet. I've had poles just snap out of my hands and fly across the site before. Makes a quick job feel like it takes hours.

Yeah, those color coded poles @aaron880 mentioned are a total game changer. My last tent didn't have them and I'd always get the poles mixed up, especially in bad light. It's like the whole thing is designed to fight you when it's wet, from the fabric sticking to itself to the poles feeling like they're coated in grease. Honestly, spending a little extra for a tent that's easy to set up in the rain is worth every penny. I'd rather be dry and drinking a beer than wrestling with a tarp for an hour.

Man I feel you on those clips! Last time I tried setting up in the rain my dog thought it was playtime and grabbed one of the poles and took off with it. I'm chasing him through the mud while the rain fly is flapping around like a ghost. By the time I got everything sorted the inside of the tent was already wet from me dripping everywhere. Took me almost an hour just to get the thing standing and by then I didn't even care about rainproof, I just wanted to be inside and dry.

My REI tent has color coded poles that saved me in a Seattle downpour.
