That week in June when my tent flooded on day one
I was up at Lake George for a 5 day trip and it rained solid from Tuesday to Wednesday night. My old 3-season tent leaked through the seams on the second night and I woke up in a puddle at 3 AM. I had to pack everything wet and drive 2 hours back home early. The floor had been fine for years so I never bothered with seam sealer. Has anyone else had a tent fail on them after trusting it too long?

Eh, sounds like you just got unlucky with the weather, not really a tent failure.

I had the EXACT same thing happen with an old Sierra Designs tent up in the Adirondacks a few years ago. It was bone dry for like 8 years and then one night of sideways rain turned the floor into a sponge at 2 AM. I learned the hard way that seam sealer isnt a one-time deal, you gotta reapply it every couple seasons especially on the floor corners. Also, polycryo groundsheets are cheap and way more durable than those flimsy footprint sheets they sell. I still use that tent now but I treat the seams every spring like clockwork, no failures since.
