Caught a former YouTuber working my local coffee shop in Dallas
Last Saturday I ordered my usual oat latte at this spot near White Rock Lake and the barista looked real familiar. Took me a second but it was this guy who had like 400k subs back in 2019 before his whole apology tour for those weird sponsor scams. He saw me staring and just said "yeah, it's me, small world." I didn't bring up the drama, just paid and sat down. He made a decent drink, I won't lie. But I've been thinking since then, do we actually owe these people forgiveness just because they took a regular job? He seemed fine, not miserable, maybe even relieved. I almost said something about his old content but figured that's a bad look for a guy just trying to clock in. Has anyone else run into a canceled creator out in the wild and just let it slide? How do you decide if someone's really paid their dues or just laying low until the heat dies down?
