Just found the page where you can see if a canceled brand quietly removed their apology video
I was doing my usual deep dive on a makeup brand that had that big moment in 2020 and I found this site called the Wayback Machine where you can look up old versions of YouTube pages. I checked the brand's channel and their apology video from April 2020 is just gone now, no trace of it on their main page at all. The wild part is if you go to the archived version from 2021, the video is sitting right there with 2.3 million views and the comments are a total mess. I compared it to another brand that got called out around the same time and their apology is still up, pinned and everything. So now I always check the archive before I decide if a company actually owned up to something or just waited for us to forget. It takes like two minutes and it tells you way more than whatever their new PR person says. Has anyone else used the Wayback Machine to catch a brand scrubbing old posts, or am I the only one doing this?
