What took you so few tries?

Oh, the "few tries" thing. My buddy Dave had a similar setup, and he just got stupid lucky with his thermal paste spread (he used the pea method, but it somehow went perfectly flat on the first go). He also watched, like, ten different build guides for his exact case before he even opened a box, so he knew where every cable route was.

Ever notice how some people just seem to have a natural talent for making hard things look easy? Like my friend who can parallel park perfectly in one smooth move, or the coworker who never fumbles a new software update. They do the prep work that no one sees, like Dave watching all those guides. The rest of us are out here sweating and trying three times, while they just nail it. Makes you wonder what little steps you're skipping.

I heard somewhere that prepping like that cuts the learning curve in half.
