Just found out that asking 'what if' in interviews is a real trick

Saw this on a TikTok from a career coach and tried it last week. I asked 'what if the team budget got cut by half' during a panel interview and they actually sat up and started brainstorming with me. Has anyone else used a hypothetical question to flip an interview around?

Yeah I feel you @theajohnson but honestly I tried asking "what if your biggest client just ghosted" at my last interview and the hiring manager laughed and said "we'd probably panic order pizza." Crazy how that small shift got them to actually talk to me like a person instead of a robot.

That pizza line hits different. @garcia.jake you're onto something real.

Nah, hypotheticals just make you look like you're trying too hard to seem smart.
