Just realized my resume got auto-rejected for a month because of a single word
I applied for over 20 marketing coordinator jobs in April and got zero callbacks. A friend finally told me my resume's Applicant Tracking System score was tanked by using the phrase 'responsible for' (which those systems apparently hate). Has anyone else had a specific word or phrase completely block their applications?

Yeah, it's crazy how much those little word choices matter. I've heard "team player" can also trigger a bad score in some systems.

Wait, you guys have heard about the "action verbs" trap too? I read this whole thing about how the bots now look for specific words like "managed" or "increased" and if you use fluffy stuff they just toss your resume. Makes the whole process feel like a weird word game instead of showing what you can do.

Oh great, so now we need a decoder ring just to write a resume. What's next, they flag you for using "hard worker"?
