My CRM failed me at a client meeting yesterday and I'm switching to a paper tracker
Lost a $3,000 contract because my CRM crashed mid-demo and I had no backup plan, so now I'm using a simple notebook for follow-ups until I find something more reliable - anyone else had a tool fail right when it mattered most?

Buddy of mine runs a small real estate team and his scheduling app went dark right in front of a big client who was ready to sign. He spent the next 45 minutes trying to reboot his laptop while the client just sat there (you know, awkward silence). He switched to a paper day planner the next morning and hasn't looked back since.

That 45 minutes of staring at a screen is a killer. I've seen it happen with GPS units on deliveries too - you can't afford that dead time in front of someone. Keep it simple and reliable, that's the smart play every time.

Did you try cold-calling with just a notepad in front of you? I did that for two months after my old tablet broke mid-meeting. Worked better than I expected. Clients actually seemed to like it more. Felt more personal, less robotic. Sometimes the simple stuff wins.
