That career pivot I did 3 years ago is now making me sweat
I left a stable accounting job to start my own landscaping business in Phoenix back in 2021, thinking I had it all figured out. Last week my biggest client dropped me without warning, and now I'm staring at a $12,000 hole in my quarterly income with no backup plan. Has anyone else had to rebuild their client base from scratch after a big loss like this?

Have you hit up local real estate agents or property managers yet? They're usually desperate for reliable landscapers and can fill that gap fast.

Oh man, I gotta push back a little here. In my experience, @phoenix_martin40, real estate agents and property managers can be flaky as hell when it comes to steady work. They often hop around for the cheapest bid or cancel last minute when a deal falls through, so I'd be careful about putting all your eggs in that basket. You might have better luck networking with local construction companies or home builders who need ongoing maintenance after a new build.

Desperate for reliable landscapers" - that's exactly the promise that got me burned last week. My guy swore they'd be steady, then ghosted me with zero notice. I'd rather build slowly with homeowners who pay on time and actually care about their yards.
