That one Tuesday where I got three job offers at once was the wildest day of my career

I was working at a small marketing firm in Austin back in 2019 and I'd been applying for months. Then out of the blue, on a random Tuesday, I got calls from three different companies offering me positions. One was a startup paying $55k, another was a big agency at $62k, and the third was a non-profit that matched the startup but had better benefits. It was insane because I'd been getting nothing but rejection emails for like 8 weeks before that. Has anyone else had a lucky streak like that where everything lined up at once?

Took the non-profit gig for the insurance and never regretted it.

So @richard_young80, do you feel like that trade off was worth it for the long haul or did it get harder to stay motivated over time? I mean, I've seen people go that route and get burned out once the honeymoon phase wears off. Just curious if the stability made up for any downsides.

Yeah my buddy Ted took a gig at a food bank in Portland back in 2018. Same deal, he went for the health insurance and the 401k match was actually decent. But after a few years he started getting real cynical about the whole mission because the board kept making decisions that didn't help the actual clients. Not saying that's the norm, just what I saw from the outside looking in. The stability part is real though, he's been there 6 years now and never had to worry about losing coverage. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
