Threw my resume into a weird job board for local government roles on a whim and got an interview within 3 days
I spent months on LinkedIn getting ghosted but applied through something called Public Sector Jobs dot com after a buddy mentioned it at a cookout, and now I'm wondering if I just wasted all that time on the wrong platform - has anyone else had better luck with niche boards over the big ones?

Ha! Guess my LinkedIn profile is just my digital resume graveyard too.

Oh man, it really is though. I swear mine has been gathering digital dust longer than my actual paper resumes from 2015. I check it like once every six months and have to pretend I remember what half those connections even worked on. The worst part is when recruiters message me about jobs I'd never take, and I have to write back something that sounds polite but actually means "no thanks." It's basically just a parking lot for old job titles and fake enthusiasm about "team culture." At this point my profile is held together with outdated skills and the hope that no one looks too close.

@violag80, is it really a graveyard if nothing even gets buried there, it just sits around looking dusty? I think my profile is basically held together by old endorsements from people I haven't spoken to since 2018. The worst is when you get those "You're a top candidate" messages for a job that has nothing to do with what you actually do. I spend more time writing polite rejection replies than I do on actual job searching. At this point my profile picture is the only part that's current and even that's from a wedding three years ago.
