Turned down a management role 6 months ago and I'm still second-guessing it

My boss offered me a team lead position back in March, more money and all that, but I said no because I liked just doing my own work without the headache of reviews and scheduling. Now I see the guy who took it struggling with 2 people quitting and wonder if I backed out too fast. Anyone else pass on a promotion and regret it later?

Was the extra money enough to make the headache worth it?

Did the payout actually cover the lost weekends and stress from dealing with it all? I ended up taking a similar job last year and found that once I figured out the right boundaries like @wesleyflores hinted at, the money actually started to feel worth it.

I get what you're saying, @the_holly, but calling it "extra money" might be a stretch. If the headache eats up your time and sanity, it's really just trading one problem for another.
