Warning: a recruiter told me my 2 page resume was getting auto-deleted
Was at a job fair in Phoenix last month, waiting for a booth to open and this recruiter next to me was bitching to her coworker about the stack of resumes on her table. She said if the ATS doesn't find exactly 6 keywords from the job posting, it flags the file for deletion. No human ever sees it. I asked her about my 2 page format and she laughed. Said she only sees 1 page, top half, and if the skills aren't in the first 3 lines, she moves on. I've been sending out the same resume for 2 years. No wonder I got zero callbacks. Has anyone else had luck with a one page format that actually got them interviews? I'm rewriting mine this weekend and I don't want to waste another 60 applications.
Ha, I feel this pain, I pretty much have a master's degree in getting auto-rejected myself lol. Guess my resume has been doing the digital walk of shame for two years straight.
