Appreciation post: The worst week of my career started with a snapped 2x4 and ended with a flooded basement in Denver.
I had to replace a load-bearing header after a framing mishap, then the sump pump failed during a storm, turning a 3 day job into a 7 day nightmare that cost me $2,500 in materials and lost work.

Did insurance cover any of that loss, or did the whole hit come straight out of your pocket? That's a brutal double whammy of bad luck and expense.

Honestly that just sounds like the job sometimes. Gotta agree with @angela_patel75 about the pocket hit, but honestly a 7 day fix for that mess isn't even that bad. Seen way worse.
