Cheap nail gun blew apart on me at a job in Phoenix yesterday

I was framing out a closet and my gun just exploded. The magazine snapped right off and a piece of plastic hit me in the arm. I bought it off Amazon for like $60 a few months back cause I was cheap. Now I gotta finish the job with a hammer and nails like a caveman. Anyone got a brand of nailer that wont blow up after a few hundred shots?

Hold on, you said it blew up after a few hundred shots. Were you using it with the right compressor settings, or did you just crank it up and let it eat?

So did you actually test the pressure before sending it, or just hope for the best?

Just cranked it up and let it eat" - that's basically how my buddy Tim treated his old plasma table. Reminds me of the time he borrowed my pressure washer and ran it dry for 15 minutes because "it sounded fine." The pump seized up and when I asked him about it he just shrugged and said "figured it would stop if it was a problem." @scott.olivia I think you're onto something here. People hear "adjustable regulator" and think it means "max it out and see what happens." Usually ends with metal shrapnel and a lot of backtracking.
