Counted my framing nail usage for one 30x40 garage last week and the number made me sit down

Tracked every stick of lumber and box of nails on a 30x40 garage job in Fort Wayne last week, just out of curiosity since I had a slow afternoon while the inspector was running late. Ended up driving 2,340 framing nails in six days by myself, which works out to around 390 a day and way more than I would have guessed. My Paslode coil gun started jamming around nail number 1,800 and I about threw it off the deck. What surprised me more was burning through 11 boxes of galvies on the hurricane ties alone. Anybody else ever actually keep count on a job, or am I just the weirdo with a notepad in his bags?
