Dropped $340 on a track saw and it paid for itself on one cabinet job

I run a small pest control company but do woodworking on the side, and I kept breaking down sheet goods with a circular saw and a chalk line. Took the plunge on a Makita track saw at the Woodcraft in Columbus six weeks ago for about $340 with a second rail. Just wrapped a built-in bookcase for a customer and every cut was dead straight, no tear out, no re-cutting panels I screwed up. If you're still fighting a straight edge and clamps, what finally pushed you to switch, or do you still get by without one?

Saw a guy on YouTube test a track saw against a homemade straight edge jig and the difference on veneered ply was night and day. The tear out on the jig side was brutal while the track saw cut looked like it came off a table saw. Been meaning to ask, does the Makita rail stay put on melamine or do you still clamp it down for slick stuff?
