Just realized those magnetic wristbands for holding nails actually work after my buddy in Denver swore by his for a whole deck build.
I thought it was a gimmick until I tried one on a fence job last week and saved myself probably a hundred trips up and down the ladder, so what other simple tools did you guys think were junk but turned out to be legit?

I mean, I get it, a laser level can be finicky but is it really that serious @stellat46? I've had mine for like five years and it's usually just a battery issue or the tripod leg slipping. Not saying your problems aren't real, but I find people blame the tool when their setup is the real problem.
