My miter saw stand collapsed halfway through a big trim job yesterday

I was installing crown molding in a house in Tacoma, had about 40 feet left to go. The cheap locking pin on one leg sheared right off, dropping the whole saw and a fresh piece of maple onto the floor. Had to stop everything, prop the saw up on scrap 2x4s for an hour while I ran to the hardware store. Ended up replacing both pins with some beefier 1/4 inch steel bolts as a temporary fix. What's the most reliable folding stand you guys have used for heavy daily work?

Wait, the DWX723 has plastic leg locks on the newer models? My old one is all steel, but they might have switched them up.

That Tacoma maple hit the floor hard.

My old DeWalt DWX723 stand has held up for almost eight years of shop work. The leg locks are solid steel, never had one fail. I see a lot of contractors using the Bosch T4B gravity rise model too.

Eight years on a DeWalt stand is pretty amazing. I always thought the plastic leg locks on cheaper stands were fine until one snapped last winter. Seeing contractors pick the Bosch model made me look at steel parts differently. Now I get why the extra weight matters. It's not just about lasting longer, it's about not failing when you're in the middle of a cut.
