Pro tip: stop trusting the stud finder beep and check for the screw line instead
I was hanging cabinets in a kitchen off Maple Ave in Cleveland last week, and my $60 stud finder chirped right where a pipe ran, almost cost me a hole in the wall. I switched to finding the drywall screw rows with a magnet and tapping, and every stud landed dead on, all 14 of them across a 12 foot wall. The beeps read density, not framing, and that's the part people keep missing. Anyone else ditch the finder for the screw line, or am I just late to this?
