Unpopular opinion: cutting stair stringers with a circ saw is fine, but my first one ate 5 hours
My first stringer had a 3/8 inch error in the rise that I chased for 5 hours because I kept trusting my tape instead of marking both sides of the 2x12, so tell me straight, do you lay them out with a framing square and stair gauges or just send it with a circ saw and a prayer like I did?
How'd you even catch that 3/8 error before nailing it up, did you stack the stringers and compare or just spot it once the treads went on crooked?
Also curious if you were marking your rise off the top edge of the board or the bottom, because that alone will eat a whole afternoon if you flip it halfway through.
