Why does nobody talk about how overpriced the lumber yards are in Denver
I drove over to Builders FirstSource near I-25 last week and their 2x4s were $7.50 each while Home Depot across town had them for $4.80, so who is actually buying that stuff?

Last year I grabbed a bundle of 2x4s at Home Depot and they rang up at $6.98 each. I switched to a local lumber yard a few months ago and paid $4.50 for the same thing, @alicer53. Might be worth calling around if you have any smaller yards nearby.

Honest to god, I used to think lumber yards were always more expensive. But after seeing posts like this I actually called around and found a local place beating the big box stores by a couple bucks a board. Definitely changed my mind on where to buy framing lumber from now on.
