Can we talk about power stretchers? I dropped $420 on one and I'm never going back to knee kicking
I know half the guys on here swear by the knee kicker for everything under 40 yards, and I used to be right there with you. Then last spring I was doing a big living room and hallway job in a house over in Garland, about 65 yards of plush, and my knees were screaming at me by lunch on day one. So I went out and bought a power stretcher for $420 plus another $60 for the tail block and pins, and honestly it paid for itself on that job alone. Here's my thing though, it's not just your knees. You get way better stretch with the power stretcher, especially on that cheap builder grade stuff that wants to wrinkle up two weeks later. I went back and redid a room I had done with just a kicker and the difference in how tight it laid was night and day. The old timers told me power stretchers were overkill for residential and that's just plain wrong in my book. Anyone else made the switch, or am I the odd one out here?
