Customer asked me to match seams in a hallway with print carpet, laughed when I said no
Had a lady in Dayton last month insist I match the pattern across a 30 foot hallway where the rolls were going opposite directions. I showed her the repeat was off by half and she said, 'can't you just stretch it a little?' Anyone else get customers who think carpet behaves like spandex?

Stretch it a little." That one got me. I've had folks ask me to "adjust" the pattern on stairs and I just have to stand there and explain that carpet is not a yoga instructor, it does not bend that way. I swear some people think we're installing wallpaper or something. Next time someone asks me to stretch it, I'm gonna ask them to stretch their paycheck a little and see how that goes. The math on a 30 foot run with opposite rolls is not a suggestion, it's a hard fact, but good luck telling that to a customer who's already made up their mind.
