Dropped $75 on a decent knee kicker after fighting with a rental for months

Wish I'd just bought one sooner, that rental one kept slipping and I wasted way too much time on a living room job last week - anyone else finally cave and buy their own gear?

Bought my own knee kicker last year and never looked back. The rental ones always had that stupid rubber pad worn down so they'd slip on any carpet. Spent like $60 on a decent one at a supply house and it paid for itself in two jobs. Totally get the frustration with that living room job, I had a hallway that took three times longer than it should have because I kept resetting the pad. Best tool money I've spent in a while honestly.

Ha, I still manage to knee myself in the shin every single time I use one.

and honestly man that hallway story hits close to home, I had a bedroom that turned into a whole afternoon because I kept stopping to adjust the stupid rental. it's funny how you don't realize how much time you waste until you finally get your own gear that just works right. like yeah the upfront cost stings a little but when you think about how many jobs you can do without wrestling with it, it's kind of a no brainer. glad you finally got one, you'll wonder why you waited so long.
