I just read in a trade magazine that the average carpet installer lifts over 2,000 pounds of material in a single day.

Found that stat in the latest issue of Floor Covering Installer and it makes my back hurt just thinking about it, so what's the best way you guys have found to save your body on big jobs?

Do you guys use knee pads with the gel inserts? I switched to those a few years back and it made a huge difference for long days on the floor. The cheap ones just don't cut it when you're crawling around that much.

Gel inserts are a total game changer... night and day difference.

My old work boots had gel inserts and they just made my feet sweat more. I switched to wool insoles for better support and moisture control.
