Overheard a guy at the supply house trash talking power stretchers

I was picking up tack strips at Dalton Carpet Outlet yesterday and this installer swore he only knee kicks everything, even 12 foot rooms. He said power stretchers are for people who cant feel a wrinkle coming. Ive been stretching with the big rig for 8 years, so should I try his method on my next hallway job or is he just asking for callbacks?
