PSA: Don't buy that fancy $80 carpet seam roller from the brand with the shiny ads
Spent 80 bucks on a "pro-grade" seam roller last month and it fell apart after three jobs. The wheel literally popped off on a high-traffic hallway install. Just stick with the standard metal ones from the supply house, not the internet hype.

Man, that's rough. I actually had one of those fancy ones in my cart for weeks before I went with a basic supply house roller instead. Good to know I dodged a bullet, definitely rethinking my whole "expensive must mean better" mindset now.

$80 down the drain is exactly what happened to me too. I used to be the guy that bought all the flashy stuff thinking it was the shortcut to better work. But after that roller fell apart I swapped to the basic steel one from the local supply house and its been solid for two years now. @young.thomas you dodged a real headache. Its funny how the tools that just work are the ones nobody talks about online. I still catch myself looking at the shiny ads but I just close the tab now.

Ha, yeah man I feel that. I've got a whole graveyard of "game changer" tools in my garage that turned out to be expensive paperweights. My wife still brings up the titanium trowel I bought that bent on the second job lmao. But honestly the worst part is how long it took me to learn the lesson, like three or four roller failures before I switched to the cheap steel one. Now I'm basically a boring old man screaming at clouds when I see flashy ads. At least we're all broke together in the same boat.
