Stretching carpet with a power stretcher is overkill for small closets, and I'll die on this hill
I keep seeing guys online say you need to power stretch anything bigger than a bath mat, and I just don't buy it. Back in June I did a 4x6 closet in a rental in Akron with nothing but a knee kicker and a stair tool, and it's laying flat with zero ripples two months later. The trick was warming the backing with a hair dryer for about 10 minutes first, which let the carpet relax enough to kick tight without cranking on it. Sure, on a full room I'm pulling out the stretcher, but for a closet it's 20 minutes of setup for a job that takes 8. What's the smallest space you guys will actually drag the power stretcher into?
